  1. * The folder "RAFowell Files for CD-ROM" includes files mentioned in the
  2.   article on Macintosh Chess Games that I submitted for the Fall '96
  3.   BMUG Newsletter.
  4.   
  5. * I hope that these files will be included on the CD-ROM that
  6.   accompanies the Fall '96 Newsletter.
  7.   
  8. * This set of files includes and supersedes the files that accompanied
  9.   the article I submitted yesterday (except for the article itself!)
  10.   
  11. * I think we have all the necessary permissions to put these files on
  12.   the Newsletter CD-ROM. The breakdown follows:
  13.   
  14.   1) GnuChessMac40b5ƒ
  15.        - This file is as I downloaded it from MIT. I didn't see any
  16.          restrictions on CD-ROM publication in the documentation.
  17.          
  18.   2) HIARCS Demo Companion ƒ
  19.        - I put this together, and the materials are all created by me
  20.          or are from publicly distributable files.
  21.          
  22.   3) HIARCS unofficial patch B
  23.        - I created all of this material.
  24.        
  25.   4) HIARCS1.0Demo folder
  26.        - The company asked me to post this demo to the Net. I don't see
  27.          any CD-ROM restrictions in the docs, but I have sent email
  28.          to the company asking for explicit permission, and to email
  29.          that permission to mann_sanchez@bmug.org
  30.          
  31.   5) MacChess 2.0 EN 1995
  32.        - The docs here do require explicit permission for CD-ROMs.
  33.          The author tells me that he did email that permission to
  34.          mann_sanchez@bmug.org. He sent me a copy, included at the
  35.          end of this file.
  36.          
  37.   6) Sargon V 2D diagram set
  38.        - I created this, so there should be no problem here.
  39.          The piece icons are not copied from another source -
  40.          I created them pixel by pixel in ResEdit.
  41.

  58. CD-ROM accompanying the Fall 1996 BMUG Newsletter. Permission to
  59. include this program on any other CD-ROM requires separate authorization.
  60. I am sending this at the request of Richard A. Fowell, who has submitted
  61. an article on Macintosh chess playing software to you, and has asked me for
  62. permission to include my program on your CD-ROM. Your email address was
  63. listed in the Spring 1996 Newsletter as the point of contact. I understand
  64. that my program is already posted on the Berkeley BMUG BBS.
